Ken Singer on Opportunity Identification

2015-07-06 11.03.27

Ken Singer is the Managing Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology and the University of California in Berkeley. He gave an interesting speech on how to identify potentially disruptive opportunities at the European Innovation Academy in Nice, France last Tuesday. The presentation was published on SlideShare and I embed it here below.

In a report document available here, Singer writes that “The Berkeley Method of Entrepreneurship is based on the hypothesis that the mind-set of an entrepreneur can be characterized by a set of behavioural patterns and that an inductive game-based teaching approach is a successful vehicle for introducing and re-enforcing these. The game- based teaching approach lets the students explore his/her current mind-set and compare it with that of entrepreneurs.“ The European Innovation Academy is very much based on this thinking.
